DRF Annual Graduating High School Senior Scholarship

The DRF Scholarship Program will award (15) fifteen $1,000 scholarships to assist students in their educational endeavors. Applicants are notified by Saturday, May 22, 2015 on the status of their application.

Spokesman Opportunities

Eagles Youth Partnership (EYP)
DeMeco serves as a spokesman for EYP and appears on local advertisements and events promoting the philanthropic organization. EYP serves over 50,000 low income children in the Greater Philadelphia region every year with a focus on health and education programming. EYP takes its services directly to kids at their schools and in their neighborhoods.

United Way Hometown Huddle/Team NFL
The NFL-United Way Hometown Huddle is a league-wide day of service designed to bring awareness and impact to the issue of youth health and fitness. The Team NFL initiative challenges designated NFL players around the league to recruit 99,000 volunteers, tutors and mentors. Programs in Philadelphia/Bessemer

Shop with a Jock
DeMeco hosted youth from Bessemer City Middle School to attend a holiday shopping spree at Toy’s ‘R’ Us in Bessemer. DeMeco selected underprivileged youth from ages 8-16 to attend the event.  Ryans has donated over $2,000 worth of gifts to children in Houston who can’t afford holiday gifts.

DRF Annual Graduating High School Senior Scholarship
The DRF Scholarship Program will award (10) ten $1,000 scholarships to assist students in their educational endeavors. Applicants are notified by Saturday, May 17, 2014 on the status of their application. Scholarships will be presented during a banquet style dinner at a date and time that will be disclosed to all scholarship recipients at the time of award notification.

Hospital Visits
DeMeco has made routine hospital visits in local hospitals to spread cheer and uplift the morale of patients.  He spends time signing autographs and distributing team memorabilia to patients and their families.

Training Camp visits for Non Profit, Community and School Groups  
Local community groups attend practices during the Houston Texans Training Camp, at Reliant Stadium. DeMeco hosts youth from Fifth Ward Church of Christ and they get a chance to see on-field practices, drills and workouts that players undergo during training camp. Interactive games are also set up for the children’s enjoyment.

  • November 2010-2013 – Gave away 200+ Thanksgiving Turkeys (both Houston/Bessemer, AL/Burlington, NJ)
  • June 2011/2012 – Awarded 10 high school senior with partial scholarships to college
  • June 2011/2012 – Hosted annual DeMeco Ryans free football/cheerleading camp for over 300 participants
  • December 2010 – Sponsored Christmas for 28 families displaced to due to December Apartment fire
  • April 2011 – Endowed full scholarship to The University of Alabama (DeMeco is the first active NFL player to do so)
  • April 2011 – Tornado relief, purchased truckloads of supplies and distributed to tornado survivors in Pratt City, Pleasant Grove and Tuscaloosa, AL
  • May 2011 – DeMeco Ryans Golf Tournament (Foundation Fundraiser)
  • May 2011 – DeMeco Ryans Day at The Birmingham Barons (Foundation Fundraiser)
  • September 2011 – DeMeco Ryans Back2Business Bowling (Foundation Fundraiser)
